I started my career at the ripe old age of 17 and I’ve only gotten older from there. The first half of my career focused heavily on honing my work as a colorist, whereas the last 8 years have been spent growing my skills in dry cutting for curly hair. In 2005 I discovered the concept of dry cutting curly hair, and I’ve been on a quest ever since to not only perfect my approach, but to share that knowledge with anyone who crosses my path.
When not working, I’m hanging with my awesome kid, my rad partner Dan, and our three cats. I also enjoy binge-watching food and eating Netflix, or something to that extent.
When I began studying at the Aveda Institute, I had the idea that becoming a hairstylist would be a good way to make a living while I played music. My passion was playing piano and composing. I was completely surprised to find out that I became even more passionate about hair cutting than I could have ever imagined. The more that I learned, the more I started to see that hair is not just a job- It is an art. My goal with everyone that sits in my chair is to help them find their personal style through their hair. I love building a whole image for my clients. I have a love for creating precise, structured, and classic styles and then adding some extra spice. I love working on all textures of hair and always enjoy a good challenge. When I'm not working, I am with my doggy-sidekick, Yoko. We love going to the dog park, taking long walks, and then cuddling at home in front of the tv.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to do hair. So after finishing college I headed straight for the Aveda Instutute. Since then, I’ve been working in an Aveda salon in Texas learning and growing as much as I can. I enjoy doing natural, sun kissed balayage as well as playing with fashion colors. Haircutting is my favorite. I love classic cuts and modern messy or precise cuts. I always view the haircut as a collaboration between me and whomever is sitting in my chair.
In my free time you’ll find me catching a movie, drawing, painting, crocheting, roller blading and hanging out with my family. I love trying new activities!
I have been a cosmetologist for 8 years and have loved every minute of it! I am always up for anything, I enjoy creating all kinds of looks, but my favorite things to do are colors, fashion colors, and bobs. I also am very passionate about hair products because they accentuate the masterpiece I have created on someone, while maintaining the longevity and health of your hair. I am so in love with my career choice—my passion is making people feel beautiful!
In my free time you can find me spending time with my golden doodle, Hobbes, painting, photography, or attending hip hop shows or concerts.
I’ve always wanted to become a hairdresser, so after high school I went to the Aveda Institute. I love doing classic haircuts, and playing around to create new modern haircuts. I spend a lot of my personal time researching techniques, tips, and trends, and try to incorporate them into my work. I also enjoy creating bright vivid hair color and corrective color work. I love drastic changes!
Some fun facts about me: I’m a cat mother to two cats; Gene and Coraline. I spend my free time drawing, singing, and/or eating ice cream, and watching movies or anime.
I fell in love with doing hair the second I got my hands on my sisters glitter butterfly clips in the 90’s, and then again a few years later when I learned I could cut Barbie’s hair with craft scissors. I attended the Aveda Institute from 2013-2015 for both makeup/skincare and cosmetology. In hair school I was a self proclaimed “dip-dye queen” and you could find me in various kitchens and basements in the south metro doing experimental dye jobs on friends.
Though my first hair love was with vivids and fashion colors, as a working stylist I’m all about the “lived in” look. I enjoy pairing low maintenance color with soft, textured haircuts customized specifically for you and your lifestyle. A few of my favorite things to do are hand-painted highlights, blondes, color corrections, and long hair. I’m also a lover of dramatic transformations and encouraging people to try something different. There is something really liberating about bold changes and making my guests feel confident from the inside out is what I love most about my job.
When I’m not working, I’m probably passionately singing the wrong lyrics to songs in the car, eating too many donuts, listening to true crime podcasts and doing my eyebrows, or watching One Direction: This Is Us.
